Nœud Nord, Nœud Sud : votre mission de vie dans votre thème natal

North Node, South Node: Your Life's Mission in Your Birth Chart

In every birth chart, there are two mathematical points — invisible, without a physical body — that are among the most powerful on the entire chart. Astrologers call them the Lunar Nodes. What they describe might well be the most important thing astrology has to tell you.

What are the Lunar Nodes?

The Lunar Nodes are the two points where the Moon's orbit crosses the plane of the solar ecliptic. They are not planets — they are mathematical intersections. In the birth chart, they are always in exact opposition, forming an axis.

The South Node: Your Acquired Gifts

The South Node represents what you already deeply know. Your natural talents, your reflexes, the areas where you feel secure. In evolutionary astrology, it's associated with past lives or patterns of behavior acquired so early that they seem innate.

The South Node is not bad. But staying exclusively within it means choosing the comfort of what you know at the expense of why you are here.

The North Node: Your Evolutionary Direction

The North Node is the territory to explore in this life — the qualities to develop, the experiences to embrace. It is often uncomfortable at first. But that's where growth is found.

The Main Axes

  • Aries/Libra: learning to assert yourself alone after lives of compromise
  • Cancer/Capricorn: learning vulnerability after lives of ambition
  • Leo/Aquarius: learning personal expression after lives of collective service
  • Virgo/Pisces: learning precision after lives of dissolution

The Houses of the Nodes

The sign describes the quality to develop. The house describes in which life area this evolution expresses itself. North Node in Leo in House X: you are called to express yourself creatively in your career. North Node in Cancer in House IV: creating a home, rooting yourself, developing your inner life.

The Nodes do not determine your destiny. They describe a direction of evolution — and an invitation.
