The Full Moon is the opposite of the New Moon—and its culmination. Two weeks after the intention set in darkness, the Moon is at its brightest. What was planted is now visible. What was hidden is now illuminated.
Why the Full Moon "reveals"
Symbolically, this is the moment when what was unconscious can become conscious. What you've avoided seeing in your life, in your relationships, in yourself—the Full Moon tends to bring it to the surface. It's not always comfortable. It's often very useful.
Letting Go: A Skill, Not a Decision
Step One: Name What You Are Carrying
You cannot release what you haven't acknowledged holding:
- What am I keeping alive out of habit or fear?
- What belief about myself has become too constricting for who I am now?
- What resentment am I carrying like a coat?
Step Two: Honor Before Releasing
What you carry—even if it's heavy—has often served you at some point. Before letting go, give thanks.
Step Three: The Release Ritual
The written and burned list: Write down everything you wish to release. Read it aloud. Then burn the paper. Watch the smoke rise.
The unsent letter: Write a letter to someone (or a situation) to say what was never said. You will not send this letter. The act of writing alone is enough.
Movement: For bodies that struggle to release mentally, vigorous dancing or yoga can dislodge what is entrenched.
Step Four: Create the Void
If this fear / habit / resentment were no longer there, what could exist in its place? Name it. Invite it in.
